Privacy
No telemetry, no ads. What the launcher sends to whom and when, what stays on your PC, and how to turn things off or delete your data.
The TRS Launcher runs on your computer. It has no telemetry, analytics, crash reporting or advertising. It only connects to a service when that is needed for something you asked it to do.
This page is a short overview. The full privacy policy is on the website:

Who the launcher talks to
| Service | When |
|---|---|
| Microsoft, Xbox Live, Minecraft services | Signing in and starting the game |
| Mojang (game files, Java, version data, news) | Installing or starting a version; news on the start page |
| Fabric, Quilt, Forge, NeoForge | Installing a mod loader |
| Modrinth | Browsing, installing or updating content; trending projects in the news |
| CurseForge | Only when you use CurseForge content |
| Minecraft servers in your server list | Showing player count and ping |
| GitHub | Launcher and TRS Client updates, release news; FFmpeg once when you turn on clips (Windows) |
| mclo.gs | Only when you press Share log and confirm |
| Discord app on your PC (local, no internet) | While Show Discord status is on |

What stays on your PC
- Your Microsoft sign-in: tokens are stored encrypted – on Windows with DPAPI, on Linux with a key from the system keyring. The launcher never sees your password.
- Crash analysis: the crash helper works only on your PC.
- Imports from other launchers: their files are only read on your PC; their sign-in data is never read.
- Clips and recordings never leave your PC.
TRS services (optional)
Capes, friends, online status, chat, synced skins and settings, achievements and more come from the TRS server. They are off until you agree in the launcher. The TRS server never sees your password or your Minecraft access token – it checks your account the same way a Minecraft server does.
You decide in Settings → Privacy:
- Use TRS services: off = the launcher sends nothing to the TRS server, and the TRS Client doesn't use it either.
- Online status, TRS badge, cape visible to others, share server and sync can be switched separately.
- Delete all TRS data deletes your TRS account and its data on the server at once. The skins and presets on your PC stay.
